Healthy Cooking Tips

       
  • Try to use garam masala in your food instead of red chilli, garam masala's are good for health 
  • Green chillies are good for health, try using those instead of red chilles
  • If your dish become salty add some sourness to it(tomato,lemon, amchur) and slight amount of gur /sugar it will add to the taste.
  • While making dish of cauliflower, in lukewarm water add pinch of salt and turmeric powder/haldi, than add pieces of cauliflower to it and wash them all the germ will get destroyed.
  • To last puri’s for longer time , knead the wheat flour with the help of milk, they will last longer.
  • While boiling milk, always add a little water at the base of the vessel to avoid the milk from sticking at the bottom.
  • If you forget to soak chana/Rajma overnight. Just soak the chana/Rajma in the boiling water for two hours before cooking.
  • Curd in winter - Set in a ceramic container and place it on the voltage stabilizer of your refrigerator.
  • dal is left after your meal is over, you can knead the dal with wheat flour and make paratha’s with it , it really tastes  good.
  • Before boiling egg add little salt to the water, the egg shell will come out easily.
  • Make desserts with full cream milk, to get thick creamy texture.
  • For making rice add double the quantity of water to it, it will cook nicely.
  • To make 1 cup of dal, add atleast 3-4 cups of water, depending on the type of dal.
  • Wash green, leafy vegetables ahead of time. This gives them more time to drain so they will not be too wet when you stir-fry.
  • To remove black stains in cooker or vessels, add a small piece of lemon and 1/2 cup water. Heat for few minutes and wash immediately.
  • Add a little salt when frying tomatoes, this helps to get them mushy faster.
  • Add 1/2 tea spn of sugar while cooking beetroot in cooker. This avoids the spreading/splashing of color.
  • While making chapathi, leave the dough for 30 min to make soft chapathis.
  • To remove bitterness of karela add salt and lemon to it and leave for one hour , wash it thoroughly before cooking, its bitterness will be removed
  • Never add lemon to the dish while cooking, it is not good for health.
